ESKOM HOLDINGS SOC- APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Mr. Tshediso Matona has been appointed Chief Executive of Eskom Holdings SOC South Africa, the parent company to Eskom Uganda Limited. The appointment takes immediate effect. He succeeds Mr. Brian Dames who resigned from March 31, 2014.

Prior to this role, Mr. Matona served as the Director-General (DG) of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE); a post he took up in 2011.

Mr. Matona holds degrees from the universities of Cape Town (Economics) and East Anglia (Development Economics). He has also studied at the University of Maastricht and at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where he completed the Senior Executive Management Programme.

He boasts of an illustrious career in International Trade, strategic and administrative leadership among others.
